Comic Book Shakespeare: High school & family discovery workshop!

  • New Mexico Museum of Art • St. Francis Auditorium 107 West Palace Avenue Santa Fe, NM, 87501 United States (map)

This hands-on workshop leads participants through creating their own manga/graphic version of Hamlet’s soliloquy, “To be or not to be.” The workshop starts with an introduction to the medium of manga/comic book representations of text, a detailed read of the text, and discussion of the imagery in the soliloquy. Then each participant creates their own version of the text. Facilitators and artists will work with participants as they imagine their own version of this famous text.

This workshop is led by Kristin Bundesen.

Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing, end them.
