Let’s Read Shakespeare! 2/1/2016 Downtown

  • Santa Fe Public Library 145 Washington Avenue Santa Fe, NM, 87501 United States (map)

Do you think Shakespeare is boring or too complicated? Do you love Shakespeare?

Regardless, reading the plays aloud with others and discussing the text as you go along is not only the best introduction to Shakespeare, but also the best way for experienced Shakespeareans to understand the layers of meaning.

Join Robin and Kristin for a brief history of Shakespeare reading groups and then let’s read the first scene of King Lear together! All materials supplied.

Readers of any age and any level of experience with Shakespeare are encouraged, as well as anyone who just wants to listen. No experience of Shakespeare or acting needed!

FREE at our local libraries on February 1, 8, and 15!

There is something in it that stings his nature,
for on the reading it he changed
almost into another man.
